SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE STEPS HELPS IN WAYS TO GO GREEN

A new word buzzing around the world is catching up with the realtors also. It is the new ‘green revolution’ or the ways to go green so that we utilize very minimal resources from this earth, and if possible give something back to the mother earth so that the coming generation can enjoy what we have enjoyed equally if not in a better way.
There are three main ways to go green if one really wishes to contribute to the new green revolution. They are using alternate source of energy, energy saving and also water savings.  When you want to constructing a house or remodeling your existing house, there are definite ways by which alternative energy can be used for our benefits, which will reduce the power consumption from the regular sources.  Solar energy is catching up fast with the builders as a main source of alternate energy.  By installing good solar water heater on the roof on the constructing stage itself will reduce your power bills to a great extent.  Similarly one or two solar rechargeable lights can be used in the house that is as bright as the conventional lights and lasts longer because of the CFL bulbs used in them.
That brings us to the second ways to go green in our home.  The new generation CFL bulb is a real boon in saving energy almost fifty percent than the conventional incandescent bulb.  For example a 14 Watt CFL bulb will give enough light emitted from a 75 Watt ordinary bulb.  Imagine a house in which five or six such bulbs are replaced and the contribution your home making to your way to go green idea. Similarly opting for lighter shade of the color you choose, at least for two sides of the walls, will reflect more light from the bulbs.  This will also allow choosing a bulb of lesser wattage there by saving a lot on energy.  Incorporating one or two extra windows in the constructing stage also helps in letting in more natural light. And the age old way of remembering to switch off the lights and fans when not in use will also help in bringing down the power consumption as well as the power bills.
The third area to ways to go green is to save water to the best extent possible.  You will be surprised of the available water in this earth four percent of the water is potable.  So each liter we save of this precious resource is a helping hand we are giving to the mother earth.  A shaving mug used instead of running water to rinse the shaving razor will save as much as 3 liters of water each day. Similarly using a shower in place of a bath tub at least thrice a week will save 300 liters of water! Surprised?  Modern water cistern designs use almost half the quantity of water but at the same time gives the same cleanliness to your closets.  Each of these steps is simple that can be followed without affecting our daily life but at the same time is a positive contribution for the idea of ways to go green.
